| THE LIGHT FAMILY CHURCH Statement of Beliefs 1. We believe that all scripture is given by inspiration of God. (II Timothy 3:16) 2. We believe in the triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 3:16-17, John 17:21, John 1:1-3, John 14:9 and John 17:21) 3. We believe that all people are born into this world a sinner and are in need of God’s salvation made available through the sacrifice of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:23 and Romans 5:12) 4. We believe it is God’s will for all men to be saved and be in right relationship with Him. (II Peter 3:9) 5. We believe in water baptism following conversion as a statement to the world that the individual has died to his or her old life and has come into his or her new life with Christ. (Matthew 28:19 and Mark 16:15-16) 6. We believe it is the will of God for every believer to be filled with the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:37-38 and Acts 19:1-7) 7. We believe that healing is provided in the redemptive work of Christ and is available to every believer. (Matthew 8:14-17 and James 5:14 –15) 8. We believe in participating in communion (the Lord’s Supper) as a remembrance of Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross. ( Luke 22:19 and I Corinthians 11:22-30) 9. We believe in allowing the Holy Spirit to move in our services as He wills and allow the use of all the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Church. However, we believe that all things should be done decently and in order. (II Corinthians 12:1-11) 10. We believe in teaching, training, and encouraging believers to pray fervently, pray with tongues, and pursue God as often as possible in their daily lives. (James 5:16, I Corinthians 14:2, I Corinthians 14:15, I Thessalonians 5:17, Hebrews 11:6, and Philippians 3:12-14) 11.We believe in presenting God’s word (the Bible) with correct interpretation of scripture and strive for sound doctrine. (II Timothy 2:15) 12. We believe Jesus is coming back in person to gather His saints to Himself. (I Thessalonians 4:16-18) 13. We believe all believers have an eternal home in Heaven when they leave this earth whether through death or Jesus comes to take them. (John 14:1-3, II Corinthians 5:8) 14. We believe that all those that reject Jesus Christ and what He did for them and refuse to turn to Him in repentance will suffer eternal judgment and be eternally separated from God and Heaven, and will burn in the Lake of Fire.
